<p>The question seems simple enough.</p>

<p>What’s it like to play 36 holes in one day here in Myrtle Beach?</p>

<p>My answer to that can’t be summed up in one brilliant catch phrase. In fact, there are really three different answers here. One for a replay, one for playing a second course at the same site, and one for packing up and heading to a different property altogether.</p>

<p>But before we get to some ways to navigate a marathon day with the clubs, you need to know and prepare for it. Let’s be honest, while we all say we wish we had more time for golf and didn’t have to consider budgetary concerns, there’s a more immediate issue at play.</p>

<p>Can you handle eight hours (or more) in one day? There is a massive divide between those who can and can’t. Take me, for instance, I typically need five to six holes to warm up on an average round, and then I start to see a significant decline in my game even if I go to the range to hit a few more after a round. (Similarly, I don’t play nine often because I can’t find my rhythm quick enough for my liking.)</p>

<p>When I play 36, I gear up for it. Extra time on the range before and after 18 usually does the trick.</p>

<p>But regardless of which of the three categories you’re planning to fall into, putting yourself through the gauntlet before you get here probably isn’t a bad idea. Press yourself so you can make the most of it.</p>

<p><strong><em>Option 1: Re-play your day away</em></strong><br>Very few golfers select to replay a course before teeing off on the first hole of the day. Frequently, those who do cite the following reasons for the inspiration:</p>

<p>The course was mostly friendly, but had a couple holes someone in the group wanted to tackle again.</p>
</div>

<p>The replay rate was ultra-forgiving.</p>
</div>

<p>The course played very fast, and the afternoon tee sheets looked favorable again.</p>

<p>Some courses who tend to draw a decent amount of that include <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tradition-golf-club">Tradition Golf Club</a></strong>, <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/founders-club">Founders Club of Pawleys Island,</a></strong> Beachwood Golf Club and<a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/litchfield-country-club"> <strong>Litchfield Country Club</strong></a>.</p>

<p>Each of those are great options because of each pro shop’s ability to give players a slight reprieve between 18s. That includes a comfortable place to chill for a few minutes while grabbing a solid bite to eat/beer. <em>(Founders Club pictured right)</em></p>

<p><strong><em>Option 2: Same property, different course</em></strong><br>We tend to see significantly more planning when it comes to those looking to try out different tracks on a site in one day.</p>

<p>As such, those properties also tend to have their tee sheets a little more tightly scheduled, as the demand for those looking to spend every bit of their early morning to late afternoon in one primary location is actually pretty high, all things considered.</p>

<p>Take Myrtle Beach National <em>(top photo)</em>, for instance.</p>

<p>A fairly regular occurrence is for a foursome to play <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-southcreek">SouthCreek</a></strong> or <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-west-course">West</a> </strong>in the morning to find their groove, and then tackle <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-kings-north">King’s North</a></strong> in the afternoon. In between, the expansive clubhouse that serves all three courses teaches a daily master class in productivity. From hot dogs to sandwiches, the turnaround time waiting for food is minimal, meaning you and your crew can hit the reset button.</p>

<p>At Myrtlewood Golf Club, the 36ers spilt up the <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-pinehills">PineHills</a></strong> and <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">Palmetto</a></strong> tracks by spending time on the back deck of the clubhouse with a drink in hand while watching the boats head north or south on the Intracoastal Waterway.</p>
</div>

<p>At Legends Golf and Resort, those divvying up Heathland, Moorland or Parkland can hit up the massive clubhouse, get some pizza and then hit up the oversized putting range.</p>

<p><strong><em>Option 3: Pack up, head over, unload</em></strong><br>Oddly enough, the most popular of the three among the 36-hole day is this one, where players finish up their first round of the day and head to a completely different property altogether for the afternoon round.</p>

<p>This requires a bit more planning, both in terms of travel between the two and navigating the timeline while making sure everyone has time to eat, too.</p>

<p>For instance, a morning round in North Myrtle Beach and an afternoon one in Pawleys Island simply isn’t going to happen. Therefore, there are two major items hurdles to clear.</p>
</div>

<p>First is the easy one. Pick a certain part of the Grand Strand and stay there for the entire day. Along the north end, <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/river-hills-golf-club">River Hills</a></strong> and <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/long-bay-golf-club">Long Bay</a></strong> are a mere 20 minutes apart. Centrally, <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/pine-lakes-country-club">Pine Lakes</a></strong> and <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/grande-dunes">Grande Dunes</a></strong> are separated by 10-12 minutes. Down in Pawleys, <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/river-club">River Club</a></strong> and <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/willbrook-plantation"><strong>Willbrook</strong></a> are only eight minutes apart. And inland, Burning Ridge Golf Club and Wild Wing are essentially across the street from each other.</p>

<p>The second item to address is where your gang is going to eat between.
