<p>I don’t know how much golf I’m going to be playing this fall.</p>

<p>And as much as it bums me out, the side effect is that I’m already planning for the spring, when the schedule is much lighter and a little bit of extra planning can go a long way.</p>

<p>For me, that also means my wish list is cranked to an informed 11. In a world where every day play just isn’t in the cards, I’m cranking through my “It’s been too long” courses and seeing what’s happened since I last visited.</p>

<p>It didn’t take long to determine which four are on my 2024 spring bucket list.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/river-hills-golf-club">RIVER HILLS GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB</a><br>After the installation of new greens in 2022 and a bunker replacement project in 2023, River Hills is going to be popping like it did back in 1989. All those renovations only add further to a course that is highly unique for the area.</p>

<p>Its combination of rolling hills and water aren’t found anywhere else on the Grand Strand. And the greens project (which pushed them back closer to their original size) and the fresh sand only means more playability. And after scaling back some during the winter, it’ll be a must-play for me come spring. <em>(River Hills top photo)</em></p>

<p><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/pawleys-plantation">PAWLEYS PLANTATION GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB</a><br>A lot of people are going to be clamoring for fall tee times this year after Pawleys Plantation’s much talked about renovation project goes fully public. Visitors will see a new clubhouse, not to mention wall-to-wall greens and bunker upgrades.</p>

<p>Did I mention this was already one of the most desirable tracks on the south end to begin with? Everyone wants to try and tackle Jack’s layout (“try” being the main word there). If for some reason I’m not sneaking onto the course earlier, it automatically jumps to the top of my spring bucket list.</p>

<p>As in that’s how much putting surface players are utilizing on the new and improved Long Bay Golf Club. Nicklaus’ other Myrtle Beach-area course (which opened in 1988, like Pawleys Plantation) has always been thought of a difficult track. But with an increase some two-thirds over on the size of those greens, the target areas for each hole will serve as a bona fide edge smoother overer.</p>

<p>There is little better for me than getting an early afternoon round, enjoying 18 picturesque holes that dip and dive around the Intracoastal Waterway, yucking it up with other locals around the (now renovated) clubhouse and then hopping across the bridge to the Anchor Cafe for a post-round drink and app.</p>
