<p>We’ve all seen those shots we’re dreading.</p>

<p>And more often than not, it involved a forced carry on an already taxing hole. These five aren’t that.</p>

<p>On a variety of Myrtle Beach-area holes, the forced carries they present are actually fun. They stretch the visual imagination and aren’t going to abuse you. They are, in no other terms, fun.</p>

<p>We bookended it with a pair of Par 3s. But we also threw in two Par 4s and a Par 5 on an otherwise difficult course. Enjoy them all. We certainly do.</p>

<p><strong><u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/blackmoor-golf-club">BLACKMOOR GOLF CLUB</a></u>, NO. 4</strong><br>We love so much about this 140-yard Par 3. For starters, the hole is a virtual island all its own, with a tree line virtually separating it from the rest of the course, especially during those times of year when the trees are full. We also love how this Gary Player design messes with your depth perception with a huge extension of grass beyond the green. It allows players to take a couple different approaches to finding the middle of the green and attack from the get go.</p>

<p><strong><u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/caledonia-golf-and-fish-club">CALEDONIA GOLF &amp; FISH CLUB</a></u>, NO. 18</strong><br>Caledonia’s finisher eases you into the most important shot of the day with a massive landing area off the green. Of course, the goal here is to reach the furthest end of that fairway to leave for a much more manageable iron shot to the green &#8211; one that lies in the shadows of this epically unflawed clubhouse. But standing over your ball on the verge of that shot, you can’t help but smile and appreciate the mystique of wrapping up with this. <em>(top photo)</em></p>

<p><strong><u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/pawleys-plantation">PAWLEYS PLANTATION GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB</a></u>, NO. 5</strong><br>At a cool 353 yards, the fifth hole at Pawleys Plantation is defined by the second shot, a forced carry over a dicey pond into the green. A decent drive &#8211; this is actually one of the easier driving holes on the entire course &#8211; leaves most players 100 yards or so from the pin. But the decision from there isn’t cut and dry, thanks to an elongated green that forgives everything outside of an outright duff into the pond. <em>(pictured right)</em></p>

<p><strong><u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/tradition-golf-club">TRADITION GOLF CLUB</a></u>, NO. 14</strong><br>On a course with multiple forced carries and island greens, the Par 5, 450-yard 14th hole finds a creative way to wrap up a long hole. While playing uphill from start to finish, a large portion of the players here are going to have to lay up on the second shot in order to take any question of carrying the pond out of the equation. Either way, a soft and wide green is going to tempt you to take your chances, either on shot two or three, to attack without so much as a care in the world.</p>

<p><strong><u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/world-tour-golf-links">WORLD TOUR GOLF LINKS</a></u>, CHAMPIONSHIP NO. 5</strong><br>Augusta National’s Amen Corner includes a nifty Par 3, and World Tour put together one heck of a replica to honor it. The perpendicular green on this 142-yard Par 3 requires player to fly the thick stream cutting across the entirety of the hole. And did we mention the bunker between the water and the putting surface? Still, the thought and touch necessary here is what the game is supposed to be all about. Tying it to your heroes of the game is icing on the cake. <em>(pictured right)</em></p>
