Renewed hope.
The period between late March and June has been a cash cow for Grand Strand golf since before some of us were even born. The 90 or so tracks in the area wake up each day feeling the excitement of another day of full tee sheets.
What all those players are looking for is the best of the best. And we give it to them.
During the spring &#8211; when the flowers are blooming and the grass and weather perfect, golf is a full-go in and around Myrtle Beach. Everything every course has trained for is leading up to these moments, putting their best foot forward in a way that encourages more play and more return trips to South Carolina’s northern coastline.
The dogs, big and small alike, come out in full force. These three, then, are a perfect way for you to resume or kickstart you game come spring.

All those regional and national honors every year aren’t a fluke. Since 1994, Caledonia (top photo) has been doing just about everything right, from the drive onto the property to the post-round drink on the deck overlooking the 18th green. It’s the total package, and spring is the time when getting onto this course is even more special.
The sun popping off the live oaks, the scenes of the old rice land are a bevy of deep breaths meant to fulfill our golfing aspirations. And, chances are your round will turn out better than you’d hoped. It’s not a particularly challenging track. That is, if you can keep your head off the swivel.

Since 1927, Myrtle Beach’s first course has re-invented itself over and over. It’s touched up its grounds, making them more appealing when the time was right. What hasn’t changed is the tradition that Pine Lakes (pictured right) adds to the area’s golf scene. Nestled amid one of the original popular neighborhoods, the Par 70 design is popular for early year players whose minds may overshoot their skill. Even on a bad day, a spring round here may finish up mere feet from a wedding on the back lawn. Meanwhile, out front and in the clubhouse, you’re going to see plenty of plaid and maybe even a kilt or two.

By the end of each spring, TPC has again anchored its legacy. The annual Dustin Johnson World Juniors have concluded, and regular players from all over the world have visited to see what this Tom Fazio design is all about.
Fazio provided the spark, but keeping that flame going is every bit about a resolve to excellence. TPC challenges everyone, of course, but it also gives back as much as it takes. The  memories here will include drives along wooded cart paths, undulated terrain, natural grass areas that fill in each April and opportunities for “that one time” on each and every hole.
