MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | For some, money is no object. For those who don’t spend all our vacations in Tahiti or are able to walk away from royal families, we choose our expenditures a bit more wisely. Welcome to the club, and for golfers, the non-private ones that fight for our bucks.
Up and down South Carolina’s Grand Strand golfing mecca are 10 courses that give us everything we’ve paid for and more. They aren’t the top-ticket tracks &#8211; those are the only types we excluded from this list &#8211; but they also aren’t dumps.
We wanted to give you a list that would wow players who are open to expanding their range while not emptying the wallet or purse. These 10 will do just that through package play and/or just finding the right deal on the right day when searching for a one-and-done.
ARCADIAN SHORES GOLF CLUB 
If they spent any more coin recently at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/arcadian-shores">Arcadian</a>, you’d have sworn that Rees Jones himself was getting back into his design game here. Instead, you can know that the superlatives now match the original design and its upkeep. New Sunday Bermudagrass greens joined updated cart paths, irrigation systems, bunkers, clubhouse and a teaching building. Throw it all together, and the investment benefits John Q. Player.
BEACHWOOD GOLF CLUB 
When you are all of 70-80 feet off U.S. 17 parking your car at this North Myrtle Beach course’s lot, you start to see why it has lasted so long. Convenience and ease of traffic means something. But when you get out on this north-end track, you can appreciate that all that play over six decades has allowed <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/beachwood">Beachwood</a> to keep costs down while ownership passes the bottom-line savings on to you. This trick-free track is a free-swinging clean design.
BLACKMOOR GOLF CLUB 
Gary Player’s gem had to deal with an unfortunate eyesore there for a bit as S.C. 707 expansion left orange barrels along its most visible hole. That’s about the closest thing to a knock you’re gonna find on this Murrells Inlet track. Thirty years after its original opening, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/blackmoor-golf-club">Blackmoor</a> is still every bit of the thinking player’s course. Nothing is routine about it, and now, with the barrels gone, there are no excuses not to put it into your rotation.

Like Blackmoor, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/the-legends-moorland">Moorland</a> opened in 1990, and after three decades, P.B. Dye’s layout is still turning heads at the Legends mega property. Dye incorporated some nifty tee box configurations to go along with waste bunkers (including one on the opener) and a variety of other hazards that will keep you on your toes. Don’t skimp on paying attention to the details; it’s part of why Moorland is on this list.
MYRTLE BEACH NATIONAL, SOUTHCREEK COURSE 
Amid all the gentle and not-so-gentle doglegs, oversized waste bunkers, the occasional water and protected greens, first-timers at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-southcreek">SouthCreek</a> are brought to a place where the cost of playing just doesn’t seem real. Everything you’re exposed to here, though, is a deserved treat for players accustomed to paying much more for a similar product back home. Call it the Arnold Palmer underdog.
MYRTLEWOOD GOLF CLUB, PALMETTO COURSE 
The renovations of 2019 now in the rearview mirror, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">Palmetto</a> (and its neighbor, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtlewood-golf-club-pinehills">PineHills</a>) have shot up the charts of late. The new Sunday BermudaGrass greens are a highlight, as are the re-shaped fringes of the greens and some irrigation updates on the front nine. Roll all of that up, and the high-traffic course is back in full bloom again for your rounds. Now, it’s just up to you to go see it for yourself.
PAWLEYS PLANTATION GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB 
Maybe the highest-dollar course on this list, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/pawleys-plantation">Pawleys Plantation</a> was included for one reason: If you’re going to start getting closer to that triple digit figure, you darn sure want to make sure it’s not going to disappoint. Jack Nicklaus’ 1988 design never has. From a design that keeps your head on a swivel to the increasing challenge of the holes as they go to the back-side marsh play, Pawleys Plantation is one of the best for a reason.
RIVER HILLS GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB  
There isn’t much fanfare to the entryway at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/river-hills-golf-club">River Hills</a>, and that’s because Tom Jackson let his 18 holes here doing the talking. And, boy, do they talk. Rolling hills and water, and then more water, tell the story of a property that was initially set to be a full-fledged private club and then pulled a 180 to open its doors to everyone. All these years later, it was a wise move for various ownership groups who have found themselves in possession of a popular track.
WILD WING PLANTATION, AVOCET COURSE<img decoding="async" style="width: 290px; float: right; height: 201px;" src="/media/images/WW400.png" alt="10 Best Bang For Your Buck Myrtle Beach Golf Courses -Wild Wing Plantation Golf Club" /> 
Get a few holes deep into the round at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/wild-wing-plantation-avocet">Wild Wing’s</a> primary 18 (there is also the Hummingbird Nine, but we’re sticking with the main event here), and you forget how close you are to the biggest road taking folks in and out of Myrtle Beach. U.S. 501 is drowned out by a buffer of trees, sure, but also of a bustling nature scene where squirrels, foxes and birds galore are all around the straight-line design and its creative wrap around the property.
WILLBROOK PLANTATION 
One of the reasons the <a href="https://www.waccamawgolftrail.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Waccamaw Golf Trail</a> gains so much attention is <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/caledonia-golf-and-fish-club">Caledonia Golf &amp; Fish Club</a> and <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/tournament-player-club">TPC of Myrtle Beach</a>. But one of the reasons the Trail is sustainable as a highly lucrative segment of the Grand Strand golf market is because of the courses like <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/willbrook-plantation">Willbrook</a>. It blends centuries of history (both good and bad, mind you) with some really good golf and a chance to play it without overdrawing your bank account.
