One of the best multi-course golf complexes on the Grand Strand has proved itself over the years by giving players three very different looks in such a short amount of land.
Myrtle Beach National has something for everyone.
<a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-west-course">The West Course</a> is a friendly everyday round meant to be enjoyed by everyone. <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-southcreek">SouthCreek</a> requires a little more precision without smacking anyone in the face. And <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-kings-north">King’s North</a>, Arnold Palmer’s jewel here, is every bit of a top-flight course that draws plenty of attention.
But what if this wasn’t 54 holes and just 18? Now, the conversation gets even more interesting. We took our favorites from each of the three and re-designed a Par 72 course that measures 6,127 yards from the white tees. Does the routing make sense? Not a chance.
And will this ever happen here? Of course not. But it adds perspective to each of these holes when you play them in real time. 
FRONT NINE
1. SouthCreek No. 3, Par 4, 350 yards &#8211; Water, albeit just as a distraction, a waste bunker full of natural grass and a decently sized green make this one of our gimmes.
2. King&#8217;s North No. 3, Par 4, 319 yards (pictured right) &#8211; Who doesn’t want a chance to cut off all of the distance by muscling up off the tee and attempting to reach a pond-side waste trap?<img decoding="async" alt="King's North 3rd Hole" src="/media/images/KN3.png" style="width: 200px;height: 200px;float: right" />
3. SouthCreek No. 16, Par 5, 490 yards &#8211; The “other” Par 5 normally on the back nine at SouthCreek is nearly as dangerous as the first. The fairway is rail thin in parts and missing left or right isn’t an option.
4. West Course No. 13, Par 3, 137 yards &#8211; An absolutely beautiful short hole, the water all the way up the left side isn’t really in play and creates some splendid framing. Pull out the camera phone here.
5. West Course No. 5, Par 4, 393 yards &#8211; Not super long, but definitely super straight, this is a great rhythm hole. Either you have it and succeed or don’t and find yourself hitting out of the needles.
6. SouthCreek No. 5, Par 4, 341 yards &#8211; We love the final yardage of this hole, where players are required to fly a last-minute watering hole to reach the green. Layups galore happen here.
7. West Course No. 17, Par 5, 466 yards &#8211; We’re already used to doglegs at Myrtle Beach National. But did this one have to be so far up in the hole? Nothing like 280 shy after hitting a tee shot.
8. SouthCreek No. 13, Par 3, 154 yards &#8211; Depending on how many of the surrounding pines’ needles are on the ground, the wind can feel like nothing or a major gust on this sandy Par 3.
9. King&#8217;s North No. 14, Par 4, 384 yards &#8211; The curving fairway bending around a massive waste bunker and leading into a pond is even harder than it sounds. This sucker adds difficulty points.
BACK NINE
10. SouthCreek No. 10, Par 5, 525 yards &#8211; The longest hole of this fictional round is also among its more difficult. And you know what? We love it exactly where it is in regards to the turn.
11. West Course No. 18, Par 3, 165 yards (pictured right)  &#8211; If it was good enough to wrap up a round, it’s good enough for us to include it here. Whatever you do, just stay right; rough is better than wet.<img decoding="async" alt="West Course 18th Hole" src="/media/images/WC181.png" style="width: 200px;height: 200px;float: right" />
12. King&#8217;s North No. 13, Par 4, 379 yards &#8211; A significant dogleg left, towering pines serving as goal posts, an inkblot of a greenside bunker and a backstop of more pines? Yes, please.
13. King&#8217;s North No. 18, Par 4, 367 yards &#8211; Throw in what feels like a gazillion bunkers, and this hole’s creativity and differences from the rest of the entire property need to respected.
14. SouthCreek No. 7, Par 4, 325 yards &#8211; Again with the short Par 4, Palmer and his design crew took the booming driver opportunity out of the equation with an 80-degree dogleg late.
15. West Course No. 15, Par 4, 387 yards &#8211; The possibilities for dunking your ball are vast all the way up the left side. Guess what? The right isn’t exactly great either. Take. Your. Time.
16. King&#8217;s North No. 12, Par 3, 110 yards &#8211; How could we possibly exclude the island green with the ultra-noticeable “SC” bunkers? This 110-yard Par 3 has serious personality despite its serious lack of green.
17. West Course No. 12, Par 4, 338 yards &#8211; This one isn’t so much a dogleg as it is a jackrabbit. Just don’t try to be a hero and you’ll probably be OK. Or do, and maybe you’ll get lucky.
18. King&#8217;s North No. 6, Par 5, 497 yards &#8211; The Gambler is an obvious inclusion. The island fairway is a must try for first-timers and repeat customers alike. Let the post-round stories in the clubhouse fly.
