<p>Today I want to talk to you about simplifying your wedge game. If you have too many wedges in your golf bag and you&#8217;re not playing well with them, take them out and just focus on your pitching wedge. And the reason why I say that is when you get really good at one wedge it&#8217;s going to build your confidence, it&#8217;s going to lower your score, you&#8217;re going to trust the wedge. I love my pitching wedge. I also love my sand wedge. Those are two wedges that I use all the time, and I feel really confident with those two wedges.</p>

<p>Now, with the pitching wedge you really have three shots that you can use. I want you to practice these shots. For the first shot with your pitching wedge, this is going to be full swing between 80 to 120 yards depending on your swing. This is just that typical full swing, and those are great for your approach shots coming into the green.</p>

<p>Now, when you are around the green, this is when you can use your pitching wedge for chipping. With chipping, you&#8217;re going to get into your chipping setup here, you&#8217;re going to choke down just a smidgen more, and it&#8217;s just going to be waist to waist. Just like that, okay. That&#8217;s going to vary again on your distances, but this is great around the green.</p>

<p>Now, I highly suggest for this third shot right here, this is called the bump and run. I love this shot, especially if you&#8217;re playing lower elevations here in the Myrtle Beach area it&#8217;s very popular shot. This is basically putt chipping, so you get set up in the chipping setup, but you&#8217;re really putting the shot with the pitching wedge. That&#8217;s why I love it. You&#8217;re going to notice I have a strong forward press here. My club is moving toward the target there, the handle is pressing forward. And for this shot, I basically am going to putt it. You&#8217;re going to be right off the green, sometimes maybe even 15 to 20 feet off the green, you can use the bump and run. It&#8217;s going to look like this. Now I&#8217;m going to feel the motion in my shoulders. There we go. There&#8217;s the bump and run.</p>

<p>With the pitching wedge, you can have three different shots. I want you to go practice these three shots, get really good at them, and only keep your pitching wedge in your bag for a period of time. You&#8217;re going to notice your scores are going to start to go down. You&#8217;re going to have so much more confidence. Just focus on the pitching wedge for right now.</p>
