<p>Let&#8217;s talk about the finish position. I always say the finish position is like the period at the end of a sentence. It is crucial to have that completion at the end of the golf swing, and maybe that&#8217;s an area that you&#8217;ve neglected.</p>

<p>Oftentimes, when I&#8217;m working with students, I can see that they maybe have great golf mechanics, but when they get to the finish position, everything goes awry. So I want to show you a few important factors for you to have a solid finish position in the golf swing.</p>

<p>The first factor is going to be making sure that you finish with the club high. The second factor is you want your chest pointing to your intended target, and the third factor is you want a majority of weight on your lead foot.</p>

<p>Let me demonstrate this with a ball. So I have a ball set up here. I&#8217;m not going to hit this ball out toward the range today, but what I&#8217;m going to do is I&#8217;m going to aim for you, without actually hitting the ball, because I want you to see this angle of my finish position.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m a very visual person, and I think having this perspective will help you when it comes to learning this. So I&#8217;m going to take the club to the top, come down in slow motion, so right now this would be impact.</p>

<p>Now here&#8217;s my follow through, and I&#8217;m getting into the finish position. So look how the club now is finishing high here, so here&#8217;s where I&#8217;m stopping.</p>

<p>Now, if you look at my chest, I&#8217;m, literally, pointed, it&#8217;s pointed towards you, to my intended target.</p>

<p>Now, if you look at my lead foot here, you can see that a majority of my weight is on my lead foot. I could actually lift up my trail foot right now and feel nice and balanced. So if you struggle with maybe losing your balance at the end of your swing, you might need to slow things down.</p>

<p>The cool thing about working on the finish position is it actually can help your other golf fundamentals, so it&#8217;s kind of working backwards, instead of working at the beginning.</p>

<p>Now, the beginning of the swing is important, obviously. Your fundamentals, your posture, your grip, your aim and alignment, all those are crucial to have a functional golf swing. But let&#8217;s not miss the finish position, so that could be one area that maybe you&#8217;re neglecting.</p>

<p>So I want you to think about these three factors, okay? Again, let&#8217;s go over it. All right? One more time. Finish with the club high, chest pointing to the target, and you want a majority of weight on your lead foot.</p>
