The idea of <a href="https://www.marketcommonmb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Market Common</a> wasn’t universally accepted when the original plans were laid out for discussion.
Some 13 years after it came together, many of us saw how wrong we were.
On the south end of Myrtle Beach city limits, the live-work-entertainment district can now be considered a success. It is home to festivals and events most weeks of the year, and those who attend have plenty of reason to get there early or stick around late &#8211; thanks to food options that have withstood the Grand Strand’s oft-picky test of time.
As a former Market Common resident (twice actually), I have no qualms telling you which members of the area’s dining options drew me and my family back time and again. Yes, there are others here we frequented as well.
But when it came to a meal with the kids, a quiet date night or drinks with friends, these three were my leaders in the clubhouse. Chances are, you’ll find what you’re looking for after your Myrtle Beach golf round, too.

King Street’s Market Common location is the only joint there that stays open late. We’ll just be brutally honest: It’s drink heavy after hours. That doesn’t water down what it does in terms of grub the rest of the day. The happy hour menu is among the best on the beach &#8211; for both food and beverage specials. Even without the discounts, the menu options are about as vast as they come. 
Start your group off with the rings, red pepper hummus or Thai lettuce wraps. Then grab one of the signature entries and plan on taking some home.
INSIDER’S TIP: There are burgers, and then there’s the Spanish Fly Burger from King Street. This behemoth includes freshly cooked sausage, jalapeños and pepper jack cheese atop a half-pound patty. It comes with fries. But you may not need them.
<a href="https://www.crepecreation.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2. CREPE CREATION CAFE</a> 
The leisurely dining style may not have a better home in Market Common than at Crepe Creation. What was originally thought of almost exclusively as a breakfast joint is a full-service morning-to-night affair. Tucked into a corner of the retail portion of the area, Crepe Creation crushes everything from the Eggs Benedict to the breakfast bowls to later in the day when the charcuterie boards and paninis are being cranked out of the kitchen.
INSIDER’S TIP: Crepe Creation often gets pigeon-holed some because of its name. But you better believe they’re not paying the rent here solely by their breakfast menu. Items like the seared salmon, 8-ounce filet and the bratwurst sandwich have opened a window to a new dining element that’s a benefit to the lunch and (especially) dinner crowd.

Candied bacon atop cheese curds. Marzen BBQ chicken wings. The Bavarian pretzel. And that’s just to get things cranking. Gordon Biersch closed many of its locations during the pandemic. But this one has thrived due to a singular reason.
Plugged into what could still be considered a chain model, there is next to nothing like it in Myrtle Beach, let alone Market Common. With fish, beef and chicken entrees that are all top notch coupled with beer brewed steps away, this is absolutely the anchor that keeps Market Common’s food and drink choices fresh for anyone and everyone.
INSIDER’S TIP: Beer flights are the way to go here. For what usually amounts to less than the cost of the same ounce count for a singular pour, you can snag six different samples of different tap options. Maybe don’t do it if the joint is jammed. But, either way, tip well and enjoy as you find your new favorite brew.
