<p>Golfers love a great deal, but not all value courses are created equal. Today, we’re putting two of Myrtle Beach’s best value picks head-to-head &#8211; <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/aberdeen-country-club">Aberdeen Country Club</a></strong> vs. <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/burning-ridge-golf-club">Burning Ridge Golf Club</a></strong>. Both layouts can be played for less than $70 and have been part of countless golf packages over the years, but is either one right for your group?</p>

<p><strong>The Course:</strong> Burning Ridge is old-school in all the best ways. The fairways aren’t wide, but there is ample room, and the greens are among the area’s smallest, placing a premium on the approach. As a collection, Burning Ridge’s par 3s are among Myrtle Beach’s most challenging, highlighted by the 200-yard (all distances from white tees) 12th. Two of the four par 5s play 457 yards or less, so the opportunity to go birdie hunting is there. The upside to the small greens is that once you are on, a makeable putt should await.</p>

<p><strong>Bottom Line:</strong> Burning Ridge is fun to play and it’s inexpensive. Nobody is telling you the experience is comparable to a round at Grande Dunes, but when all factors are considered, Burning Ridge is one of the area’s most underrated layouts.</p>

<p><strong>The Course:</strong> This Scottish-inspired property features the Highlands and Meadows nines, both of which play along a rolling piece of property, adding to the fun. The Highlands nine is the more open of the two sides, encouraging players to swing away with the driver, but your short game had better be on point. Aberdeen features more undulating greens than Burning Ridge. Don’t be quick to leave the property after your final putt drops as the clubhouse is home to a full-service restaurant that features multiple TVs. This is a great place to grab lunch and watch a game.</p>

<p><strong>Bottom Line:</strong> Aberdeen is another outstanding choice, especially if you are looking for a day of arrival or departure round of golf as it enjoys a convenient location on Highway 9 just west of North Myrtle Beach.</p>

<p>If you prefer a classic design, Burning Ridge should be your pick. But if you like to swing away and enjoy the challenge of more undulating greens, Aberdeen gets the edge.</p>
